I am studying in the Southwestern portion of France (Pyrenees region) next year. I'm an american and I would like to 'fit in" with the other college-age French students. What are some items I should definitely pack and what items should I leave? I have heard that jeans and tennis shoes are not very common as well as sweatshirts, shirts w/ labels and writing on them... are these true?? How would the typical French or European dress for class? a night out?? etc etc. Please help! :)

I just can't wait to see what replies he gets.
