As I was eagerly browsing through my brand new Spring/ Summer La Redoute mail order catalogue I stumbled upon a double page of lingerie devoted to ‘ Life after mastectomy’.
I cried.
Later I heard the story of an entomologist who spent six months in Latin America catching thousands of priceless specimens of rare butterflies. At El Passo, the American custom officer immediately confiscated the whole lot and threw it into the bin. That day the butterfly collector decided to change jobs.
I cried some more.
